SCIENCE CENTRE

We are busy trying to establish a science centre for the community where students can come to learn more about the studies of maths and science. Many of the previously disadvantaged black children fear these subjects because they think it is difficult to do these subjects. We intend to take away that fear by using these subjects in a fun filled way.

We also intend to put a twelve inch or bigger telescope inside this building. These children never had the opportunity to view the night sky through the eye piece of a telescope. If you have know about such a topic please we make an humble appeal for your urgent help.

I believe that using astronomy as a key subject we can tell these learners about God's love for us through His son Jesus and how He created the heaven and the earth for our pleasure. This is a great idea. We would like all astronomers who have resources and finances to get on board.

A survey was conducted and the outcome was over whelming. These learners are excited about this project.

We make a humble appeal to our brothers and sisters around the world to take a step of faith and sow into this wonderful new way of taking the Gospel to the younger generation. This is the brainchild of Ian lets make it happen.

These are the following items we need to make this centre come to fruition.

1. The building with a dome that can house five or more students during viewing time.
2. A telescope and accessories.
3. A computer with maths ;science and astronomy software.
4. Some filing cupboards.
5. A desk
We would like to ask companies to get on board as this could be an opportunity for a company to advertise their company on the outside of the dome. This could be very beneficial to the company and our community. What could be outcome of this project ?.
1. Create a learning interest for these students.
2. Create tourism.
3. Umkomaas could make history in the astronomy world.
4. Excursion outings for other schools in the greater Durban area.
5. The company on the outside of the dome will get serious advertisement mileage.

ABET - adult basic training education

During the apartheid period, many of the affected poor blacks could not afford to attend to schools. so these people need to learn how to read and write. this could be another opportunity for the Christian community to come forward to help these people to read the Bible and to write. these people have very little skills and this could be a blessing to them. We look forward to hear from you.

Church Planting

We were able start some work between the gypsy ; Dalits and remote villages.  We planted 2 worshipping groups in different villages. The Lord opened many hearts to receive Him as their savior. Now we have 25 people altogether. Every group has no church building but they gather in one of the believers' home. We need church buildings. But due to poor earnings these people cant have their own church building to worship in. We make a humble appeal to Churches and Organisations to assist us financially so we can build on your behalf.

Many young people committed their lives to God's work, but due to lack of facility and funds we are not able to give official training. Please do pray for the resources and to continue the bible school, so that the churches that are established in the villages will have sufficient Pastors. We appreciate your prayers and support.

What are the needs of church planting?

Transport -  which can take us into remote villages to preach the Gospel and to carry equipment for showing the Jesus Film.

Bibles - after we give them the Gospel we would like to give Bibles but due to finances we cannot achieve this.

Instruments - these people love to worship the Lord through song and praise. But we request help from our partners.

These people used to have services in the open under a tree for many years. They wrote to us requesting our help. We finished this project in February 2003. We also fed the congregation and gave them new Bibles in the telegu language. Now they don't have stand in the cold to worship Jesus. These people would also like to thank all the people who helped financially.

ORPHANAGES

We want to help at least a few children out of them. To date we have 47 children in our orphanage of all ages and religious backgrounds and can not take more for the lack of accommodation.  We are planning to have 100 children in the home and help them by providing food, shelter and education.

We help children regardless of race, religion or sex. Many of them are victims of AIDS. In situations like this, these families who can hardly take care of their own children naturally find it almost impossible to take of them selves.

As more family members succumb to Aids, the problem becomes even more complex. In fact, this scenario has been played out over and over again, so that to day we have another unique orphan problem. Households headed and managed by children themselves because all grownup relatives have perished.

Our Objectives is to bring up orphans by finding ways and means of meeting their spiritual, physical and social needs and reaching out to all the children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The end result is to raise reliable responsible, resourceful and productive citizens through providing and facilitating the education, instruction, training and equipping with skills to the children in a Christian set up. The objective will be achieved by using various means and ways of reaching out to these children.
