Our Projects

Feeding Scheme
This scheme provides free food for the poor and needy school going children. Many poor black families cannot make a living on their grants alone, so we assist these families with food parcels.

We are currently running a feeding scheme in a few schools with the assistance from Woolworths and a few private individuals. Ready made lunch boxes are provided to these indegent school kids, so they can perform better and not having to think about being hungry the whole day. You can make a difference through donations and sponsorships.

Helping the Disabled
Many disabled people in Umkomaas are housebound because they cannot use their legs for whatever reason. These people are often a burden on their families who are already suffering due to extreme poverty. Some are visually impaired. These people need skills to survive the harsh reality of living in the rural areas where there is no access to resources etc…

We have been donating wheelchairs over the past couple of years, and have seen how the lives of these unfortunate people can change dramatically due to their newfound mobility.

Clean Water – Bore wells
We have donated a number of nore wells in different parts of Umkomaas. Each bore well provides fresh, clean water to many families, and thereby prevents diseases that they would otherwise catch from dirty and polluted water they would otherwise drink from ponds;streams and rivers.

We need your help to install more of these bore wells to provide clean, safe drinking water, and avoid diseases and deaths among the worlds poorest people. The municipality is resticted from proving drinking water in these areas beacuase of the costs involved.

Vocational Training
We have been providing training on sewing machines to poor and destitute women. These women are often widows and have to provide for their families. After completing a training course, the women are given a sewing machine which they can use to generate some income by making and mending clothes for neighbours. The machines can also be used to make and mend clothing for their families. There are several vocational projects that is running throughout the year. Send us a mail to info@missionswithaglobalvision.org.za for further inquiries.

Education
We are currently raising money for our educational fund which is used to provide eductional resources to poor students and scholarships to oustanding students who would otherwise not be able to continue their studies beyond primary school. The Umkomaas area has many poor families. The people that suffer the most live in the rural parts of Umkomaas. So we plan to setup an ABET center on the proposed Campsite.

This will house the necessary resources need to educate and equip these youth and adults. This edifice will include training in the agricultural sector especially in tunnel farming and poultry.
